For over 30 years, Evergreen Fields has been a trusted name in wastewater management across Ireland. With 16 staff, plus a fleet of eight tractor units and 40 tipper trailers, the company collects, stores, and redistributes treated sewage waste as organic fertiliser for farmers, acting as a circular economy. However, with increased demands from a growing customer base, leading to higher volumes of paperwork, Evergreen Fields needed a more efficient and effective way to manage its operations. That’s when, three years ago, they turned to the Eureka Transport Management Software (TMS).

 

We were probably two years talking about moving from paper to a system,” says Stephen Smyth, Managing Director at Evergreen Fields. “It’s a bit scary moving everything online, but after two years with Eureka, it’s been a game changer.”

 

The team previously relied heavily on paperwork and spreadsheets. Although these kept things somewhat organised, they lacked real-time visibility and created duplication of work. The need for a modern, cloud-based system was clear.

Transport Manager, Joey, now uploads jobs directly into the system. Drivers instantly receive job details via the Driver Portal and can update their progress, upload photos, and capture e-signatures on site.

 

You’re not chasing drivers for dockets anymore,” Stephen explains. “Everything’s live. You know where the driver is, what’s done, what isn’t—it’s all there, in real time.

 

What’s great for us, too, is the fact that all your work is brought together in one place. You can have your jobs open on one screen, your map on another, and it makes everything just so much easier to see and keep track of.”

 

One standout feature has been the automatic generation of collection dockets (Email eCollection) and the event-triggered emails that go directly to customers.

 

It does a lot of the heavy lifting for you,” Stephen adds. “Customers get their dockets straight to their inbox as soon as the job’s done—no chasing, no delays.

 

The automatic reporting features within Eureka also give Stephen and the team greater visibility than ever before. Reports that once took hours to compile can now be generated instantly, with job information that is accurate, consistent, and always up to date.

 

It’s given me more confidence in my knowledge of what’s going on in the transport side of the business,” explains Stephen. “All the work we do, MoveIT creates reports for us. It’s saving me time from getting this information myself. It just ticks all the boxes for us.

Eureka’s biggest impact? Time—and lots of it. Stephen estimates they’ve seen a 25% increase in operational efficiency, especially when it comes to admin and reporting.

 

Stephen also adds that the business is saving around two days’ worth of admin work every week, thanks to the features provided within the Eureka TMS software.

 

Because job creation doubles as invoice creation, the accounts team isn’t duplicating tasks. Reports are generated in seconds, filtered by customer, by county, by date, with all the data already populated accurately by the system.
